What you'll learn

This guide explains Phase 5 of every Business Build: Cover & Brand. You will learn why visual presentation matters, how EBB creates your cover from earlier phases, and how this step prepares your ebook for Publishing and Business Assets.

What is Cover & Brand?

Cover & Brand is the fifth phase of a Business Build. It transforms your completed ebook from Writing into a professional product with a consistent visual identity.

Readers often form an opinion about a book before reading the first page. This phase creates a cover that reflects your ebook's purpose, audience, and promise — so the product looks as intentional as the strategy and manuscript behind it.

Why Cover & Brand matters

A professional cover builds trust. It signals that the ebook is a real product — not a draft — and helps communicate the promise to the right reader at a glance. On storefronts, social feeds, and landing pages, the cover is often the first impression.

Branding matters for the same reason. A consistent visual identity ties the cover to the title, audience, and transformation you defined in Discovery, Opportunity, and Blueprint. When Cover & Brand aligns with your manuscript, the finished business feels coherent rather than assembled from unrelated pieces.

The cover also becomes the visual anchor for the remaining phases. Publishing, Business Assets, and Launch Marketing reuse this identity so your ebook and supporting materials present one business — not several disconnected designs.

How EBB creates your cover

EBB generates your cover using information gathered throughout the earlier phases of your Business Build, including:

Business idea. The topic and direction established in Discovery and refined through Opportunity and Blueprint.

Target audience. Who the book is for — so the visual tone matches the reader you defined.

Customer transformation. The outcome the reader seeks — reflected in mood, positioning, and promise rather than literal illustration of the subject.

Business positioning. How your offer stands apart, carried from Opportunity and Blueprint into the cover's visual direction.

Ebook topic. Title, subtitle, and core message from Writing and Blueprint — composited with typography on the generated artwork.

The cover is generated specifically for your project. It is not a stock template swapped between unrelated businesses.

Good to Know Your cover is generated from the business strategy you've already created. Because it is based on your Discovery, Opportunity, Blueprint and Writing phases, it reflects the unique direction of your Business Build rather than using a generic template.

What happens behind the scenes?

EBB analyses everything created so far — Discovery answers, Opportunity direction, Blueprint positioning, and Writing outputs — and produces cover artwork consistent with that overall business strategy.

The objective is a professional visual identity that matches both the ebook and the audience: appropriate tone, readable title treatment, and artwork that supports the promise rather than distracting from it. Title and author name are composited onto the generated background so the finished cover is ready to use.

You review the result in the Cover & Brand workspace. When generation completes, the cover and brand presentation become part of your Business Build for Publishing and later assets.

Why this phase is automated

Cover generation is fully automated so every Business Build can produce a complete, professionally branded ebook without requiring design experience. You do not need graphic design skills, layout software, or a separate cover commission to reach a polished final product.

Automation also keeps the cover aligned with the same strategy that shaped your manuscript. A designer working from a brief could achieve similar alignment; EBB applies that connection directly from the data already in your project.

Your role is to review the cover in context — does it fit your niche and reader? — and continue when you are satisfied. The platform handles artwork generation and typography composition.

What you'll have when you finish

By the end of this phase you will have a professionally generated ebook cover, a consistent visual identity, and a branded product ready for Publishing . The cover artwork will also be used throughout the remaining business assets so your launch materials match the book.
